The WittySprout Winter set turns the quietest season into a child’s own canvas. Each page of the magnetic book is a winter scene waiting to be completed — a snow-covered meadow, a forest at dusk, a cozy home interior, a frozen pond. Children arrange the included magnetic figures and elements to populate these scenes, retell what they observe in the world around them, and invent stories of their own.

Unlike a finished picture book, nothing here is fixed. The fox can hide under the pine tree today and warm itself by the window tomorrow. The mitten can belong to the child, or to the snowman. This open-endedness is the point: it is what transforms a toy into a tool for thinking.

Built on Montessori principles

• Realistic imagery, not cartoons. Animals, objects, and clothing are illustrated true to life, so children connect what they hold in their hands with what they see in the world.
• Self-directed play. No instructions to follow, no “correct” arrangement. The child leads; the adult observes.
• Concrete before abstract. Tactile magnets and physical placement come first — language, sequencing, and narrative grow naturally from the manipulation.
• Prepared environment, portable. The book closes flat with all pieces secured inside, ready for the kitchen table, a long car ride, or a grandparent’s house.
